08/04/15California Rule of Court 10.620(f) requires trial courts to provide notice no later than 15 court days after “[r]eceipt of the annual allocation of the trial court budget from the Judicial Council after enactment of the Budget Act.”

At its July 28, 2015 meeting, the Judicial Council made 2015–2016 Trial Court Trust Fund (TCTF) and General Fund allocations to trial courts. The following is the link to the report on the California Courts website: www.courts.ca.gov/documents/jc-20150728-itemH.pdf.
07/22/15Fiscal Year 2015-16 Preliminary Budget.
04/16/15Effective May 4, 2015 @ 5:00 PM – The CaseFax (e-fax) system for Civil case filings will no longer be used or maintained by the Superior Court of Kern County. The Court will have a new system for Civil case filings – Odyssey File and Serve (e-filing) available for use on May 13, 2015. Registration for the recommended on-line training sessions for File and Serve is now available here.

Court Reporter Information
Effective March 14 2016, the Superior Court, County of Kern, Court Reporter Availability Notice required by California Rules of Court 2.956(b)(1) has been changed. Court provided reporters will be available in the Unlimited Civil Departments (D.4, D.11, and D.17). Charges for these court provided reporters per Government Code 69953 will apply. For more information, please refer to the Availability Notice under the Court Reporter tab on the Court’s Internet Web site.

Community Outreach
The Kern County Community Outreach effort began in 1998 with a committee chaired by the Honorable Roger D. Randall of the Superior Court. The strategic plan requires the development of external and internal efforts that will focus the limited resources of the Courts on meeting their designated mission. One ongoing project of this committee, the docent (court volunteer) program, helps to make the courts more user friendly.
